SSI Diver Stress and Rescue

SSI Rescue Diver is a challenging and highly rewarding course designed to develop confident, capable divers who can prevent, recognize, and manage diving emergencies. This course shifts the focus from self to others, teaching you how to identify potential problems before they escalate and how to respond effectively to real-world dive incidents. Through a combination of theory sessions, confined-water practice, and open-water scenarios, you will learn diver stress recognition, self-rescue techniques, assisting panicked or unresponsive divers, search and recovery skills, and effective emergency management both at the surface and underwater. You’ll also strengthen your dive planning, situational awareness, and teamwork skills. The Rescue Diver course is often described as the most valuable and transformative step in a diver’s education building not only competence and confidence, but also the mindset of a responsible, safety-focused diver. It is an essential qualification for those planning to continue toward professional-level training or simply aiming to become a more capable and reliable dive buddy.

Prerequisites

• Medically fit for diving
• Minimum age : 15 years old
• Certified SSI Advanced Open Water or Equivalent certification
• Certified Emergency First Responder Primay and Secondary Care or Equivalent certification
