SSI React Right – Course Overview Course Definition SSI React Right is a comprehensive emergency response and first aid training program developed by Scuba Schools International (SSI). The course teaches participants how to recognize emergency situations and respond quickly, calmly, and effectively until professional medical assistance arrives. Students learn essential lifesaving skills including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use, primary assessment, choking management, bleeding control, shock management, and basic first aid techniques. Participants also learn how to assess an emergency scene, manage a casualty, and provide immediate care until emergency services take over. This certification is a mandatory prerequisite before enrolling in the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course and is also an important step in the professional diving pathway for divers who plan to progress toward leadership certifications such as SSI Dive Guide and SSI Divemaster. Although widely recognized in the diving industry, React Right is not limited to diving emergencies. The knowledge and skills taught in this program can also be applied to everyday emergencies on land, making it a valuable lifelong skill that can help you assist others in critical situations anywhere in the world.
